When Mary stood at Thy grave, looking for Thy sacred body, angelic
powers shone above Thy revered tomb;
and the soldiers who were to keep guard became as dead
men. Thou led Hades captive and wast not tempted thereby.
Thou didst meet the
Virgin and didst give life to the world, O Thou, Who art risen from the dead, O
Lord, glory to Thee.

Troparion
of Prophet Zachariah in Tone Four In the Vesture of a priest,
according to the law of God, thou didst offer unto Him well-pleasing
whole-burnt offerings, as it befitted a priest, O wise Zacharia. Thou wast a shining light, a seer of
mysteries, bearing in thyself clearly the signs of grace; and in God’s
temple, O wise Prophet of Christ God, thou wast slain with the
sword. Hence, with the forerunner, make
entreaty that our souls find salvation.

Nativity of the Theotokos in Tone
Four
By thy holy nativity, O pure one,
Joachim and Anna were delivered from the reproach of barrenness; and Adam and
Eve were delivered from the corruption of death; thy people do celebrate it,
having been saved from the stain of iniquity, crying unto thee, the barren doth
give birth to the Theotokos, who nourisher our life.

إنَّ يواكيمَ وحنَّةَ من عارِ العُقرِ أُطلِقا. وآدَمَ وحواءَ
من فسادِ الموتِ بمولدِكِ المقدّس، يا طاهرة، أُعتِقا. فلهُ يُعيِّدُ شعبُكِ إذ قد
تخلَّصَ من وصمَةِ الزلاّت. صارخاً نحوَكِ، العاقرُ تلِدُ والدةَ الإلهِ المُغذيّةَ
حياتَنا.

THE EPISTLE
(For Fifteenth
Sunday after Pentecost)
O
LORD, save your people, and bless your heritage
To
You, O LORD, have I called, O my God?
The
reading is from Saint Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians. (II Cor.
4:6-15)
Brethren,
it is God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," who has shone in our
hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of
Christ. But we have this treasurer
in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not
to us. We are afflicted in every
way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not
forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death
of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For
while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus' sake, so that the
life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So
death is at work in us, but life in you. Since we have the same spirit of
faith as he had who wrote, "I believed, and so I spoke," we too believed, and so
we speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with
Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For it is all for your
sake,
so that as grace
extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of
God.

يا إخوةُ إنَّ اللهَ الذي أمرَ أن يُشرقَ من ظُلمةٍ نورٌ هو
الذي أشرقَ في قلوبِنا لإنارةِ معرفةِ مجدِ اللهِ في وجهِ يسوعَ المسيحِ، ولنا هذا
الكنزُ في آنيةٍ خَزَفِيّةٍ ليكونَ فضلُ القوّةِ للهِ لا مِنّا. مُتضايِقينَ في
كلِّ شيءٍ ولكن غيرَ مُنحصرينَ، ومُتحيرين ولكن غيرَ يائسينَ، ومُضطهدينَ ولكن غيرَ
مخذولين، ومطروحينَ ولكن غيرَ هالكين، حاملينَ في الجسدِ كلَّ حينٍ إماتَةَ الربِّ
يسوعَ لتظهرَ حياةُ يسوعَ أيضاً في أجسادِنا، لأنا نحنُ الأحياءَ نُسَلّم دائماً
إلى الموتِ من أجلِ يسوعَ لتظهرَ حياةُ المسيحُ أيضاً في أجسادِنا المائتة، فالموتُ
إذن يُجرَى فينا والحياةُ فيكم، فإذ فينا روحُ الإيمانِ بعَينِهِ على حسبِ ما كُتبَ
إني آمنتُ لذلك تكلّمتُ فنحنُ أيضاً نؤمنُ ولذلك نتكلم. عالمينَ أنَّ الذي أقام
الربَّ يسوعَ سيُقيمُنا نحنُ أيضاً بيسوعَ فنَنْتَصِبَ معكم، لأنّ كلَّ شيءٍ هو منْ
أجلِكم لكي تتكاثَرَ النعمةُ بِشُكرِ الأكثرينَ فتزدادَ لمجدِ الله.
THE
GOSPEL
(For the Fifteenth Sunday of Matthew)
The
Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew.
(Matthew 22:35-46)
At
that time, there came to Jesus a lawyer, asking him a question, to test him.
"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"
And Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is
the great and first commandment. And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two
commandments depend all the law and the prophets." Now
while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, saying,
"What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?" They said to him, "The son
of David." Jesus said to them, "How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls
him Lord, saying, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make
thy enemies thy footstool'? If David thus calls him Lord, how is he his son?"
And no one was able to answer him a word,
nor from that
day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.

متَّى
فصلٌ شريفٌ من بشارةِ القديسِ متَّى البشيرِ
في ذلك الزمان دَنا إلى يسوعَ ناموسيٌّ مُجرّباً لهُ وقائلاً يا معلّمُ
أَيةُ وصيَّةٍ هي العُظمى في
الناموس. قال لهُ يسوعُ أَحببِ الربَّ الهَكَ بكلّ قلبِكَ وبكلّ نفسِكَ
وبكلّ ذهنِكَ. هذه هي الوصيَّةُ الأُولى والعُظمى. والثانيةُ وهي مثلَها أَحببْ
قريبَكَ كنفسِكَ بهاتين الوصيَّتينِ يتعلَّق الناموسُ كلُّهُ والأنبياء. وفيما
الفريسيونَ مجتمعونَ سأَلهم يسوعُ قائلاً ماذا تظنُّونَ في المسيحِ ابنَ مَنْ هو.
قالوا لهُ ابنَ داود. فقالَ لهم فكيفَ يَدْعوهُ داودُ بالروحِ ربَّهُ، حيثُ يقول:
قال الربُّ لربّي اجلِسْ عن يميني حتَّى أجعلَ أعداءَكَ موطِئـاً لقدَمَيـْك. فإنْ
كانَ داودُ يَدعوهُ رَبـًّا فكيف يكونْ هو ابنَهُ. فلم يستطِعْ أحدٌ أنْ يُجيبِهُ
بكلمةٍ. ومِنْ ذلكَ اليومِ لم يجسُرْ أحدٌ أنْ يسأَلهُ
البـتَّة.
و خاصة من أجل الكلية القداسة، الطاهرة، الفائقة البركات، المجيدة،
سيدتنا والدة الإله الدائمة البتولية مريم.
بواجب الإستئهال
حقاً نغبط والدة الإله الدائمة الطوبى البريئة من كل العيوب أم إلهنا. يا من هي
أكرم من الشاروبيم وأرفع مجداً بغير قياسٍ من السارافيم،
التي بغير فساد ولدت كلمة الله وهي حقا
ًوالدة الإله إياك نعظم.
Especially
for all-holy, pure, most blessed and glorious Lady, the Mother of God and
Ever-Virgin Mary.
“It
is truly right to bless you, O Theotokos,
ever-blessed, most blameless, and the Mother of our God; more honourable than
the Cherubim, more glorious beyond compare than the Seraphim, in all purity you
gave birth to God the Word;
