أنتَ أَيُّها الشيخُ الصدِّيق. حاملاً على ذِراعيكَ المُعتقَ نفوسَنا
والمانحَ لنا البعثَ والقيامة. |

Thou, O Christ
God, Who by Thy Birth, didst sanctify the Virgin’s womb, and, as is meet, didst
bless Simeon’s arms, and didst also come to save us; preserve Thy fold in wars,
and confirm them whom Thou didst love, for Thou alone art the Lover of
mankind.

الأول
يا مَنْ بمولدِكَ، أَيُّها المسيحُ الإله، المستودَعَ البتولي قدَّستَ.
ويَديْ سمعانَ كما لاقَ باركتَ. وإيانا الآن أدركتَ وخلَّصتَ. إحفظ رعيَّتَكَ
بسلام. وأيِّدِ الذينَ أحببتَهم. بما أنّكَ وحدَكَ مُحبٌّ للبشر.

Make your vows to
the Lord our God and perform them.
God is known in
Judah.
The
Reading from the Second Epistle of St. Paul to St. Timothy. (3:10-15)
Timothy my son, you have observed
my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my
steadfastness, my persecutions, and my sufferings; and what befell me at
Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra. What persecutions I endured; yet from them all, the
Lord rescued me. Indeed all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will
be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse,
deceivers and deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and
have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood
you have been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to instruct you
for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

الرسالة أحد الفريسي
والعشار صلّوا وأوفوا الربَّ
إلهنا الله معروفُ في أرض يهوذا فصلٌ من رسالةِ القديسِ بولسَ الرسولِ الثانية إلى
تيموثاوس ولدي تيموثاوسَ إنّكَ قد استَقْرَيْتَ تعليمي وسيرَتي
وقصدِي وإيماني وأناتي ومحبَّتي وصَبري. واضطهاداتي وآلامي وما أصابني في
أنطاكيةَ وأيقونيةَ ولِسْتَرَة، وأيةَ اضطهاداتٍ احتملتُ وقد أنقذني الربُّ
من جميعِها. وجميعُ الذين يريدونَ أن يعيشوا بالتقوى في المسيحِ يسوعَ
يُضطَهدون. أما الأشرارُ والمُغوونَ من الناسِ فيزدادونَ شرّاً مُضِلِّينَ
ومُضَلّين. فاستَمر أنت على ما تعلّمتَهُ وأيقنتَ بهِ عالِماً مِمَّن تعلّمت.
وأنكَ مُنذُ الطفوليةِ تَعرِفُ الكُتُبَ المُقدّسةَ القادرةَ أن تُصَيَّرَكَ
حكيماً للخلاصِ بالإيمانِ بالمسيحِ يسوع. THE GOSPEL (For Sunday of the Pharisee and
Publican) The
Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke.
(18:10-14) The
Lord spoke this parable: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a
Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus
with himself, ‘God, I thank Thee that I am not like other men,
extortionists, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast
twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector,
standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but beat his
breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man
went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who
exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be
exalted.”
الإنجيل إنجيل أحد الفريسي
والعشار قال الربُّ هذا المثل. إنسانان صَعِدا إلى الهيكلِ
ليُصَلّيا أحدهما فريسيٌّ والآخرُ عشارٌ. فكان الفريسيُّ واقفاً يُصَلي في
نفسِه هكذا اللهمَّ أنّي أشكرَك لأني لستُ كسائرِ الناس الخَطَفةِ الظالمينَ
الفاسِقينَ ولا مثل هذا العشّار. فإني أصوم في الأسبوعِ مَرَّتَيْنِ
وأُعَشِّر كلَّ ما هو لي. أما العشّارُ فوقفَ عن بعدٍ ولم يُرِدْ أن يرفعَ
عينيهِ إلى السماءِ بل كان يَقْرَعُ صدرَهُ قائلاً اللهمَّ ارحمني أنا
الخاطيء. أقول لكم إن هذا نَزَلَ إلى بيتِه مُبَرَّراً دون ذاك لأن كلّ مَنْ
رفَعَ نفسَهُ اتَّضَع ومَن وَضَع نفسَه ارتفع. Please note that there will be
no fasting during the week after the Sunday of the Pharisee and
Publican ملاحظة: هذا الأسبوع يكون أسبوع المخالفين فلا صوم
فيه Especially
for all-holy, pure, most blessed and glorious Lady, the Mother of God and
Ever-Virgin Mary. “It is truly right to bless
you, O Theotokos,
ever-blessed, most blameless, and the Mother of our God; more honourable
than the Cherubim, more glorious beyond compare than the Seraphim, in all
purity you gave birth to God the Word; true Theotokos we magnify
you.”

المجيدة، سيدتنا والدة الإله الدائمة البتولية مريم. بواجب الإستئهال حقاً نغبط والدة الإله الدائمة الطوبى البريئة من
كل العيوب أم إلهنا. يا من هي أكرم من الشاروبيم وأرفع مجداً بغير قياسٍ من
السارافيم، التي بغير فساد ولدت كلمة الله وهي حقا ًوالدة الإله إياك
